Not at all. Every kit comes with step-by-step video instructions you scan to follow along. You can also print them at home if you'd rather go screen-free. Most of our customers have never touched clay before. If you can roll a ball, you can do this.
Ages 6+ with a little adult help, 10+ can do it totally on their own. But honestly, most of our customers are adults. Couples do them on date night, friend groups do them with wine, and solo crafters use them to unwind after work. It's fun at any age.

Foam clay is pre-colored, super soft, and squishy (think marshmallow texture). Unlike air-dry clay it doesn't crack or crumble. Unlike polymer clay it doesn't need baking. Everything you need comes in the kit: pre-mixed colored clay, sculpting tools, and step-by-step video instructions. No extra supplies, no craft store run.
Nope. Foam clay doesn't stick to surfaces, doesn't smell, and cleanup is basically nonexistent. It air-dries on its own, no oven needed. Your table will be fine.
